The Caterpillar Trampoline
Tonight we went over to Jim and Gina's for dinner to enjoy one of George's (Gina's Dad) famous pork loins cooked on the Big Green Egg. Miriam (Gina's Mom) and George loved getting to know little Andrew and were amazed at the size difference between Andrew and Thomas, even though they are only 5 months apart!

For dessert, we all enjoyed leftover pumpkin and pecan pie, and of course Dana's leftover delicious cheesecake. Ben had a big bowl of ice cream with whipped cream and sprinkles. He also sang "Happy Birthday to Jesus" to us again!

We started to change Ben into his pajamas, but before they could get them on, his sugar rush set in and he began to jump off the ottoman onto the rolled up caterpillar over and over again. It was hilarious!

Before long it was time for us to leave and a buckled up Andrew decided to show us his new smiling ability that he learned less than a week ago!

Snowball Fight!
Today everyone came over for lunch before Kathryn and Dana drove back to New Jersey. We set up the timer to take a family photo in front of the tree.

Ben serenaded Thomas with his ukulele.

Then we went for a walk while Dana drove back to Jim and Gina's to retrieve his and Kathryn's coats they had accidentally left behind.
Thomas borrowed Ben's hat.

Ben rode on his tricycle for part of our walk.

Jim wore Thomas in Christine's moby wrap.

Baby Andrew held his hands together for the entire walk.

Ben got tired of the tricycle and instead decided he wanted to walk with Yaya.

At some point a snowball fight broke out. Gina decided not to partake which resulted in her being hunted down by Ben by the end of our walk.

Run, Ben, run!

Ben sneaks a taste of his gingerbread house.

Baby Andrew still holds his hands together when we arrive back at the house.

Jim and Thomas are both looking at the camera!

Ben plays doctor with Thomas and gives him a shot in the butt.

Thomas doesn't seem to notice he's Dr. Ben's patient.

Christine let Gina try out her new Ergo baby carrier with Thomas.

The First and Third Christmas
Christmas 2009, Andrew's first and Ben's third! We opened presents and Ben showed Thomas how to work the ball popping toy we gave to Thomas.

Jim was all too happy about his annual set of Christmas pencils and a stool he had made in junior high.

We had family snuggle time on the couch.

Sometimes Andrew sat with Dana on the floor.

Jim wanted to try wearing Thomas too.

Dana gave Kathryn a tent for Christmas and we set it up in the basement. Everyone crawled inside and pretended to hide from the "monsters."

Thomas wasn't so sure about all those crazy people.

Ben is a blur as he tries to save us all from the monsters outside of the tent.

Ben finished his dinner early and watched a Christmas special on tv. He found the Santa hat and put it on himself as he watched.

After Thomas went to bed for the night Gina had an opportunity to hold baby Andrew.

Merry Christmas!

Fondue
Dana and Kathryn drove down from New Jersey this morning, dropped off their stuff at Jim and Gina's, loaded Gina and Thomas into the car, and they all headed over to our place. Jim came home from work with Mike after they both were off at noon. Mike took Ben sledding in the backyard and Jim sat with a sleeping Andrew while Christine made a run to the grocery store.

Thomas checked the taste of some of Ben's puzzle pieces.

Grandpa Dana and Thomas rocked out in a ukulele and piano duet.

We all went to a children's service at a church about a block away from our place. It was so crowded that only standing room was available when we walked in. A nice couple offered Christine and Gina (and Andrew and Thomas) a seat in the front row!
When we arrived back at our place, Thomas and Ben got busy playing together.

Everyone else was busy in the kitchen preparing the fondue.

Grandpa Dana managed to take a great shot of himself and baby Andrew!

Ben LOVED the caramel and chocolate dessert fondue!

Then Ben rode on his horsey with our neighbor Hannah. It was hilarious!
