Let's go to the Kunkel!

This morning we all went to the park to help Ben and Andrew let out some energy before we headed back to Maryland this afternoon.

Group hug!

We tried to have slide races with Thomas and Andrew, but the slides were not very slippery so they didn't move!

Slide race.

Mike heard the alarm and went sliding down the fire pole!

Mike rides the fire pole.

After the park we all went to visit June, a family friend.  She was thrilled to see all the young ones!

On our way home we stopped at Kunkel Park.  Ben was very excited to see the park again!

Slideshow!

Brothers and cousins like to play in the den at Nana and Grandpa's house!

Andrew wants the camera.Three cousins in the den

All the men took Ben and Thomas out on a trip to pick up a new tv for Dana and Kathryn since their last one has gone kaput.  Meanwhile Gina, Christine, and Andrew walked around downtown checking out the shops and grabbing some coffee.

We had a lazy afternoon, watching "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" on the new tv and intermittently napping.  Thomas opened his early Christmas present from us (a nativity set, Christmas book, and ornament)!

Look what I got from Uncle Mike and Aunt Tini!

For dinner, we had enchiladas!

Ready to eat enchiladas!
Thomas can't wait to eat, so he settles for gnawing on a cell phone.

After dinner, Christine and Gina poured over old photo albums.

When all the little boys were down for the night, Jim and Dana set up the slide projector.

Getting ready for the slideshow

And we settled down watching old family slides from when the boys were young!

Enjoying the slideshow!

Dana and Kathryn were surprised to see that they had a photo of the original Hinkley house from the property on which the Maine condo was built.

This is the same view today:

The rest of photos had us almost in tears of laughter!

The three boys are not thrilled about their velour suits.

We found a picture of Jim and Bill assembling a lego set of a police station.  Ben had rebuilt that same exact set (literally, it was their old legos) just this morning!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We braved the traffic and made the 7 hour (usually 4 max!) drive to New Jersey and were greeted with Bill, Laurie, and Kaili on the computer via Skype!

We didn't waste much time unpacking and quickly settled down to a big Thanksgiving dinner!

The whole group ready to eat dinner.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Andrew's Baptism!

Today we celebrated Andrew's baptism!

The ceremony was very small and private and the deacon was very relaxed and even let the kids come up and explore during the baptism.

Kids commune with each other.

Andrew thought being baptized was the coolest thing ever!

After the baptism, lots of family photos were taken.  Godparents are Christine's brother Jim and our sister-in-law Gina!

Afterward, we all went out back and played on the church playground.  Evan found the static from the slide when he went for a ride.

Static, anyone?

And Jim and Thomas shared the tunnel.

With Dadda in the tunnel.

Back at our place, Andrew got busy playing with his cousins.

Cousins playing together.

He fell in love with his Mickey Mouse birthday card (it sang the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Theme Song!).

He played with that card for a good 20 minutes.I can't get enough of this card!

We put a candle on a cupcake for Andrew and sang Happy Birthday to him again!

Andrew likes people singing to him.

We also lit cupcakes for all the rest of the little boys, and the other November birthdays:

Kathryn:

Celebrating Kathryn's birthday too!

Mike:

Celebrating Mike's birthday!

And Dave, but he was too quick for us to snap a picture!

The boys were very interested in their flames.

A candle for me too, Dadda? And Evan too!

Andrew, meanwhile, was busy devouring his cupcake!

Hmmm... this cupcake is alright!

We took our sugar rushes on a walk to the park up the street.

Grandpa Dana is a good stroller pusher.Cousins in the stroller.

Ben was insistent that he pull Aunt Gina in the wagon and was actually able to pull her!

Pulling the wagon.Super strong Ben!

By the time we made it to the park, Thomas was out cold.

Conked.

He wasn't aware of the great effort Grandpa Dana put into pushing the stroller up the big hill.

Pushing the stoller up the hill to the playground.

Uncle Jim decided to relive the days of his youth through the monkey bars.

Jim relives his youth.

On the way back to Mike and Christine's, Ben decided to pull Momma.

Ben can pull his momma too!

In the front yard, we had a leaf fight:

Inside, we had sleeping bookends:

Sleeping bookends.

Grandpa Dana was slightly awake though and almost let us get away with taking a picture of him snoozing.

Semi-sleeping Dana

We played with the dress up box and Ben became a bird-witch with a laser gun.

The witch-bird-man shoots us with his laser gun.

Uncle Jim became an alien.

Alien!

Evan tried on some glasses.

Thomas did his best Top Gun impression.

Fine, I'll just stay here and look cool.

We ended the evening around the train table.
